WIL-CAL Lighting Management Company, Inc. provides comprehensive and on-call lighting and sign maintenance services for every category or manner of outage we undertake. WIL-CAL Lighting Maintenance Technicians are trained to work on lighting fixtures and signage of various configurations and wattages, at voltages from 12v to 277v. (Electricians are qualified to work on circuits up to 480v.) Our Lighting Maintenance Technicians are experienced on a variety of ladders (e.g. offset stairwell), and high reach equipment (e.g. scissor lifts and articulating booms).

The main difference between the two is that Retrofitting includes both ballast replacement and relamping during the process. Uniquely different from most Lighting & Electrical Contractors back end approach to lighting maintenance, the Field Review Index Program was designed as a comprehensive front end strategy. Our goal is to make lighting maintenance issues imperceptible to the tenant, management, and property owners.Initially, our field inspector will index, map, and catalogue all exterior lighting fixtures and signs into our computerized tracking system. Next, a historical database of luminaires is created. Capturing repair information has numerous advantages in that WIL-CAL will be able to identify outage trends and rapidly narrow troubleshooting efforts. Accurate budget forecasting becomes possible as well.Unlike the traditional on call service, this new report and repair strategy provides affordability and control. No longer will you be in the dark regarding the status of your lighting and signs, you will be able to respond to problems before they escalate into a liability issue.Outfitted with the proper inventory of materials for each property, drawings, locations of lighting controls, and high reach equipment, our qualified Lighting/Electrical Technicians provide monthly maintenance of your property to ensure that all outages are repaired. When we think of disease, we envision a slow and often-fatal degeneration of the structure. Compromising the integrity of any lighting pole reduces the structural soundness that was engineered into that pole. A major cause of damaged poles is rust contamination. And in many cases the extent of the corrosion is not detectable until the pole reveals blistering, pitting, and holes. The rust contamination will render the pole tin-can thin. At that point the possibility of complete collapse of the pole is imminent. Rust contamination has many causes, ranging from irrigation, salt air, damaged or missing pole-top caps that allow rain to collect within the pole itself, just to name a few. WIL-CAL Lighting Management Company, Inc. can perform ultrasonic metal thickness testing to assess the integrity of the poles and determine the probability of any crumbling lighting poles that can lead to property damage and/or injury. It is important to test the soundness of lighting poles using Ultrasonic Metal Thickness testing before it becomes an emergency. Then a comprehensive report and photographs will be provided to fully assess the extent of rust damage to exterior lighting poles for your evaluation and possible pole replacement.

In 1980, Wilson Electric was founded by and began in Terry Wilsons garage in the heart of Silicon Valley. By 1984, Kinya Pollard joined Wilson Electric, and from there the company grew into Wilson California. Shortly after, as our company tightened and focused its direction, our name evolved into WIL-CAL Lighting Management Company, Inc. Not unlike our pioneering Silicon Valley neighbors, such as Intel, Apple, Cisco, and HP, WIL-CAL took a simple concept of lighting maintenance and developed a working system of lighting management. Today WIL-CAL Lighting Management Company, Inc. serves the greater Bay Area. Our diverse customer base is comprised of Commercial Property Management Companies, High-Tech Industries, Manufacturing Industries, Retail Centers, HOAs, and the Service Industries. Because of our thorough knowledge of the Bay Area, and its ebb and flow, we can identify potential breakdowns before they become real breakdowns. All is undertaken in a rapid and professional manner. Depending on the individual customer requirements, from Group Relamping to major retrofit projects to parking lot lighting service, our personnel are trained to address these needs. As holder of a California State Contractors License, we not only adhere to all laws and standards that are required by the State, but continuously keep all employees updated on new and existing safety and business practices. WIL-CAL maintains an open and professional relationship with PG&E so as to provide greater service for our customers. We work in tandem with PG&E to develop and take advantage of energy-efficient strategies that benefit both the customer and the environment. Additionally, WIL-CAL Lighting Management Company, Inc. contributes funds and individual participation to numerous Non-Profit Organizations. Some of these Non-Profit Organizations WIL-CAL volunteers for and donates money to are the National Kidney Foundation, Make A Wish Foundation, and Breast Cancer Foundation to name a few.
